Basil – a plant that can also be used in the kitchen to relax in the bathroom

Romantic basil leaves are used in the diet and are an indispensable ingredient in pesto sauce, tomato dishes and many other dishes, mostly Mediterranean cuisine. But it’s not just the taste that makes basil so special. It has anti-inflammatory effects, is rich in antioxidants, and can be used as an analgesic, as well as for muscle relaxation and pain relief. If you pour hot water over the basil leaves and inhale the resulting steam, you can even relieve headaches.
Basil can be used in acne treatments. Its antiseptic properties reduce inflammation and reddening of the skin when applied, but also when consumed. You can also use this plant to boost your immunity by making tea out of its leaves. Basil contains the bioflavonoid apigenin, which is known for its beneficial effects on the human body.
You can always add excess basil leaves to cocktails like gin tonic and mojito. It will also enrich the taste of soft drinks like lemon iced tea or acidic water. In summer, it is advisable to put basil leaves in an ice bucket along with water. When you’ve gotten thirsty, you can put ice cubes in plain water and get the perfect summer refreshment with all of the added health benefits of this food.
If you really don’t know what to do with excess basil and you don’t want to consume it, add it to your bathroom and enjoy its scent while you relax in the bathtub.
