If you are one of those people who have had brittle nails all their lives or they have started to become sensitive over time and using permanent nail polish, this is the place for you.
Although what we will always recommend to do first is to take supplements that will replace your vitamins or collagen that will take care of the health of your hair, skin and nails, there are home remedies that you can use to try to help the nails. Whether peeling or cracking, choose one of the following methods for yourself and be persistent in your intention to improve the health of your nails.
Soak in olive oil
In addition to being known to help lower cholesterol levels and restore skin hydration, it can also help you have stronger nails. Olive oil has the ability to penetrate and restore the strength of the nails. Simply soak your nails in extra virgin olive oil for ten minutes each day and you will notice the difference very quickly.
Weekly treatment with warm oil and lemon juice
Cold olive oil is not the only thing that will do wonders for your nails. Its warm variant, when mixed with freshly squeezed lemon juice, provides a fantastic nourishing treatment for brittle and fragile nails. Mix a little warm olive oil with a few drops of freshly squeezed lemon juice. Soak a cotton ball in the resulting mixture and put it on the nails and fasten with plastic wrap. Remove after ten minutes. You will soon notice that your nails are stronger, healthier and shinier. Lastly, lemon juice can be your true ally when it comes to beautification.
Bath with sea salt
Sea salt is usually used as a bath to help your skin look younger, prettier and better, but it is also good for your nails. Simply mix four teaspoons of sea salt with two cups of water and soak your nails for ten minutes. Repeat the treatment twice a week.
Tea tree oil treatment
Tea tree oil can be used for many purposes. It is an excellent antiseptic and moisturizer, so it would be good to apply a few drops a week on the nails to repair the already caused “damage” to the nails and to hydrate the skin around the nails.
Bath with warm milk
Give your nails extra amounts of calcium by soaking them in warm milk for five minutes. This will strengthen your nails and prevent peeling and cracking. You will not go wrong if you add one yolk to the milk – the extra amount of protein will make them even stronger. You can repeat the treatment every day.
